The Program Manager will lead the Foundation for Jewish Camps’s (FJC) efforts to design and implement new programs in Orange County, California, in partnership with the Director, West Coast Region. This role will drive FJC’s efforts to increase the number of campers that attend Jewish overnight camps throughout Orange County, including camper recruitment utilizing marketing for One Happy Camper® (OHC) and other grants and scholarships; contributing to local and regional recruitment efforts in partnership with area camps; and creating an FJC presence through relationship development with local organizations and stakeholders. This role includes the administration of key technology tools along with program and evaluation components. Additionally, the Program Manager will support programmatic initiatives in day and overnight camps across the west coast region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead regional programs with support from the Director, West Coast Region.
  • Launch and Administer the Orange County One Happy Camper® program, manage the registration system and parent and partner communications.
  • Develop and implement a regional camper recruitment and marketing strategy, including online, print, and grassroots campaigns in partnership with FJC’s Marketing and One Happy Camper® teams.
  • Attend Jewish communal and/or camp-related events and opportunities to represent FJC, OHC and FJC-network camps
  • Develop relationships with Jewish organizations to promote camp.
  • Cultivate relationships with California-based camps and provide ongoing support in the areas of marketing and recruitment in Orange County.
  • Weave networks and build one-on-one relationships, connecting best practices with needs, addressing challenges with resources, linking leaders and experts with camp professionals, and more.
  • Support regional activities and programs, including but not limited to biannual regional gatherings. Attend and participate in other scheduled meetings and events. Contribute meaningfully to field-wide efforts, including FJC’s professional development programs, regional initiatives, and large-scale offerings like Leaders Assembly, Satisfaction Insight surveys, and FJC’s Camp Census. 
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently regarding programming and logistics with internal and external stakeholders, as well as staying ahead of the curve to ensure that everyone involved has what they need to be successful.
  • Serve as a concierge providing camp expertise for potential camp families.
  • Research and develop regional funding opportunities with support from the Director, West Coast Region.
  • Manage FJC’s grantmaking as it relates to scholarship funds and innovation efforts.
  • Manage grant funding, reporting, and grantee relationships within the assigned portfolio of projects and programs; communicate with funders and grantees about all aspects of grant expectations and deliverables as needed.
  • Occasional travel for events, meetings and conferences is required.
  • Additional responsibilities, as determined by the Director, West Coast Region and the Senior Director, Grant Making and Field Expansion.

CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience required. 
  • Previous experience with project and/or program management from visioning to implementation required.
  • Tech-savvy with collaborative tech tools. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Asana, and FormAssembly and/or Alchemer a plus.
